Fantasy Football Picks - 2007 NFL Season

It's time for football and I love football.  So here I will be placing my weekly picks for teams and players for this 2007 NFL season!   Before I start listing my picks, I want to first say that I am no Guru, so please don't e-mail me to tell me I suck if I am way off on a prediction.  I play quite a few online fantasy games and have had pretty good success over the years.  But I am not one of these fanatics who go as far as to see what the game time humidity is to make their picks.  Thus, do not use my picks to bet yourself into the hole with.  I do not guarantee my picks, therefore, don't cry to me if you lose your shirt betting on a game, or you lost your fantasy prize money because you used my picks for your choices.  However, if you do win some cash, come back here and order some cards to show your gratitude for me making you rich (LOL!)

I will keep my results up all season so you can see either how great I am, or what a lousy picker I am!

2003  Final Regular Season Record  (161-95)     2004  Final Regular Season Record  (161-95)
2005  Final Regular Season Record  (175-81)     2006 Final Regular Season Record (155-101)
2007 Season Current Record (100-58)

Due to real life commitments and lack of time to prepare this page in a thoughtful manner,  I am suspending my fantasy football picks for the rest of the season.  I apologize in advance for my readers who enjoy following my picks.

Notes:   Happy Thanksgiving!  All the T-Day games should be ho-hum blowouts.  Most of the weekend games are pure garbage in terms of the point spreads.  The most interesting one is the Patriots 22 point spread over the Eagles, especially if McNab does not play in the game.  Pittsburgh should rebound by punishing a hapless Dolphins team on Monday night.

NFL Picks - Week 11

Wrap-Up: Well at least I did not get caught in the Pittsburgh trap for Best Bet game, though the Eagles did make me sweat it out.  Quite a few shockers, besides the Steelers loss,  the Saints getting beaten pretty good by the Texans.  I got burned again on the Browns game, so I am rapidly sinking in my weekly Upset Special picks.

Notes:   A lot of teams have a lot of redeeming to do this week to make up for last week's disasters.  New Orleans, Indianapolis, NY Giants, Minnesota for starters.  There should also be a lot of routs, at least on paper - New England, Green Bay, Indianapolis, Pittsburgh and Philadelphia should all win big.  The question is will your fantasy players be able to get a nice slice of those pies?

NFL Picks - Week 10

Wrap-Up: I got bushwhacked by a slew of upsets and it could have been worse. The Colts - Chargers game was amazing in that Peyton Manning throws 6 picks and yet still gives his team a chance to win in the end and the 99.9% Mr. Clutch, Adam Vinitari, pulls a 29 yarder to lose.  You almost think you would never live to see that.  Cleveland gave Pittsburgh all it could handle.  The Lions killed me on my Upset of the week as Jon Kitna did his best impression of a wild Brett Favre.  I finally did hit a correct score for the first time this year,  the Dallas prediction over the Giants.  WeHo!

B. Roethlisberger- PIT W. Parker - PIT K .Winslow - CLE H. Ward - PIT M. Crosby - GB Buffalo

Notes:   This week the only game that I like for upset of the week, if again you could call it an upset, would be Detroit over Arizona.  How the Cards even got favored by a point doesn't make sense to me, but I'm not an oddsmaker so I can't say why.  Pittsburgh over Cleveland could be a risky Last Man standing pick, but playing in Pittsburgh,  I feel confident with that pick.

NFL Picks - Week 9

Wrap-Up: Another alright week going 9-5 and bringing my overall to 83-46 for the season.  My upset special should have been Green Bay over Kansas City,  I just never figured that the 49ers would be so anemic against the Falcons.  I correctly guessed the Pats by 4, though my final tally was off a bit.  Some of my player picks were down right awful, but I hit the Portis pick dead on.

D. Anderson - CLE C. Portis - WAS K .Winslow - CLE B. Edwards - CLE S. Graham - CIN Tampa Bay

Notes:   I'll start off with the game of the week.....Atlanta vs San Francisco.  LOL.  No, there has been enough hype.  I'm going with the Pats over the Colts in the game that should have been played in London rather than that dog last week.  Dallas will finally exercise some of those Eagle demons, Washington will make amends for last weeks beat down and Oakland will win this week.  I like the 49ers over the Falcons in my upset of the week, though I don't see this as a huge upset.  Best Best is a tough call this week, but I think San Diego is the closest thing to a lock.

NFL Picks - Week 8

Wrap-Up: A great rebound, though some of the games were not as close or lopsided as I thought they might be.  At least New England and Indianapolis did not blow their games to set up the mid-season Super Bowl this upcoming weekend.  I hit my Upset Special again running to an incredible 6-1 this year!  Some of my player picks were just horrible.  Any Giants offensive players were just that - OFFENSIVE!

Notes:   Will this be the week that somebody finally holds the Patriots under 30 points?   Nope.  Will this be the week the Fins win their first game?  Nope.  Will this be the week Indy loses for the first time?  Nope.

NFL Picks - Week 7

Wrap-Up: A so-so 9-5 week, but my Upset Special picks are the best they've ever been.  All the picks I got wrong could have gone either way, so I'm going to grab whatever positives I can get after a few sub par weeks of picks.  The surprise of the week was how Sage Rosenfels, the backup QB for the Texans rallied his team from a 32-7 deficit to a 36-35 lead and almost won the game.  That is why Mike Ditka and Bill Parcells agreed that putting Mike Brady back in after the Fins cut the lead in half against the Pats.  Seems like things can turn around in a hurry and they said it best.  If you don't want the score run up against your team,  tell your defense to play harder.  LOL

NFL Picks - Week 6

Wrap-Up: This doesn't look like it is going to be the season for me, though my Fantasy Football teams are in the running right now,  my straight up picks were down again.  Not to mention I blew my Upset Special record.  If the Colts can't beat New England in a few weeks,  it doesn't look like anybody can except maybe themselves.

Notes:  Just a quick line to say I think Dallas will win in Dallas against the Patriots.  After the emotional win last week against the Bills, this will have them pumped up for New England.  Dueling QB's and the Randy Moss vs Terrell Owens showdown.  With those egos, you just know that both of them are going to play their hearts out to out shine the other.

NFL Picks - Week 5

Wrap-Up: I didn't have any gut feelings on Upsets this week, even with the smallest of spreads, so I abstained for the first time.  A nice rebound to last week's fiasco.  Sorry for the lack of my notes and picks the past 2 weeks as my head has not been the right frame of mind.

NFL Picks - Week 4

Wrap-Up: Talk about Crash and Burn!  This was the worst week I have had since I started the Fantasy Picks on my website.  I kept my Upset special perfect at 4-0 with Oakland as my pick, though it looks like I could have thrown a dart at any game and gotten that right.  The Chargers have really sent me to the bottom.  Watch out for the Cardinals, if they can post a few more quality wins, they could be a playoff team this year.

Notes:  Busy week me so no pre-game day notes.  Sorry.

NFL Picks - Week 3

Wrap-Up: A decent 11-5 week before the 1st week of byes start. I've improved to 3-0 on my upset picks for the first time since I've started this fantasy pick blog, hopefully next week I can keep the trend going.  The "Aint's" are officially back and it was a shame to see the way they played Monday night against the Titans.  The Titans are playing okay football, but the with the Saints alleged firepower, it should have been too much for the Titans to handle.  Donovan McNab certainly lit up the skies and imagine if he didn't have to tone it down in the 2nd half of their 56-21 win against the Lions.  He could have passed for 500-600 yards at the rate he was going.  The Chargers are in big trouble if the ship is not righted very soon.

Notes:  I think this will be the week those that have not had an opportunity to pick up Lamont Jordan (if still available) will kick themselves with another strong performance this week against the Browns.  Even though they are playing the Raiders,  I don't see the Browns putting up 50 again or Derek Anderson having another stellar week.  Neither should Carson Palmer who should face a stiffer defense with the Seahawks.  If Ladanian Tomlinson does break loose this week and run for 150 and 3 TD's,  look for fantasy owners all over the country cry for Norv Turner to be kicked to the curb.  I'm a Green Bay fan and would love nothing more than to see the upset happen, but I just don't see it unless the "D" scores a couple of times.   To rebound from my disappoint loss in Best Bet,  New England should roll over Buffalo, regardless of how well the Bills played last week against Denver.  I like Dallas to pull the upset this week and another bad performance by Rex Grossman should seal his fate as the starter.  All good things must come to an end!

NFL Picks - Week 2

Wrap-Up: A slightly disappointing week, though who would have guessed the Bengals would score more than 40 points against the Browns and lose??????  A lot of games were a lot closer than they should have been and Denver got away with one against Oakland.  So are the Raiders good or did the Broncos have a bad week.  Not as bad as the Saints.  If they don't get it together at home next week against the Titans, 0-3 is not the way to get to the playoffs.

J. Delhomme - CAR T. Henry - DEN C. Cooley - WAS W. Santonio - PIT S. Graham - CIN Denver

Notes:  Week 2 should see a lot of wide open games with 9 teams being favored by 7 or more points. One of those is the Colts over the Titans, but the Titans played the Colts tough last year and beat them once.  After beating Jacksonville, I won't be surprised if Vince Young pulls out another miracle win.  I think Cincinnati will roll over Cleveland and San Francisco will nip St. Louis this week in my upset Special. I like the Saints to pull their heads out of their laps and get back to showing everybody why they will have a monster offense this year.  I like San Diego in a bit of an upset (only because the Pats are favorites), but if they win it really won't be an upset.  Unlike the Jets game, Brady will not have the luxury of unlimited time to toss the ball around at will against the Bolts.

NFL Picks - Week 1

Wrap-Up: A very good start to the season posting a 12-4 straight up record for the week.  For the first I also got my Upset and Best Bet correct to start the season.  Hopefully this will be a sign of things to come!  (Yet right, LOL).  A lot of wacky games, but it was Week 1, so it was to be expected.  I felt in order for Green Bay to win games this season, they were going to have to count on winning a lot of low scoring games (13-10, 14-10).  The Eagles game proved that.  The biggest disappointment of the week was Jacksonville in a game many had as their pick for last man standing.  Next week they play the hapless Falcons, but you just never know in the NFL who will show up from week to week it seems (unless your team is the Colts, Patriots or Chargers)

Wrap-Up: Thursday Game: Well I thought Indianapolis would do well.  The Saints did not show up which was a surprise. Especially how poor their running attack was.  I hope the rest of the weekend is not like this.

Notes:   Thurdsday Night Opening game -  This looks like a great game to start the season.  If Drew Brees throws like has all pre-season, this should be a fantasy shoot-out.   At least 600 yards of passing offense and whoever has the ball last should be the winner.  The Colts at home should be the difference.  (Other notes and game predictions coming Friday)

Sunday-Monday Games:  I usually am a 8-8, 9-7 type of guy the opening week as I still am trying to gauge how the teams will play out. Some of these games really can go either way, though I think Detroit will upset Oakland in Oakland, just because I think their offense can keep ahead of Oakland's.  Kitna will throw a ton of passes and Roy Williams will have a good day.  Yeah I know Oakland had the "best" defense against the pass last year, but if you look at the stats,  Oakland's D was the most run on team last year (542 rushing attempts) giving up 134 ypg avg.  There was no need to pass.  Oakland was on the receiving end (no pun intended) of an NFL low 25.6 pass attempts against per game.  Detroit will have a little running game and more passing.

For those of you new to my Fantasy Page,  this is the format I go with.    I don't have time to post my thoughts and predictions for every player playing or my reasoning why.  Some of it should be self-evident  (picking strong RB's against weak run D).  Some weeks my player picks are dead on, and some weeks they are just outright miserable.  I'm sure many of you have seen the same thing with other sites that post their fantasy picks.   I know how hard it can be to get down to pick time and still have trouble deciding between a few players.  That's why I started this page 3 years ago,  just to give you another free site to go for some another person's thoughts and picks for the upcoming week!  I wish all of you good luck this upcoming season!
